M. Scott Bratt

Chairman of the Board

M. Scott Bratt is an independent businessman, corporate director and Chairman of Serafina Energy Ltd.’s Board of Directors. Mr. Bratt has worked in the energy sector for over 25 years, including an 18 year investment banking career primarily at FirstEnergy Capital Corp. (15 years) where he was Managing Director, Co-Head of Corporate Finance until August 2012. Mr. Bratt has significant experience in mergers, acquisitions, valuations, financing, and has been a trusted advisor to numerous boards and senior management teams.

Mr. Bratt serves on the Board of Directors of Saguaro Resources Ltd., is the Chairman of WindRiver Power Corporation and is the Vice-Chairman of Panorama Mountain Village Inc. Mr. Bratt has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary, holds the Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst designations, and is an Institute-Certified Director (ICD.D).

Don Archibald

Don Archibald is an independent Calgary businessman who serves as the Chairman of Panorama Mountain Village Inc. Previously, Mr. Archibald held a variety of senior roles with Cyries Energy Ltd., including Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and was the President and Chief Executive Officer of both Cequel Energy Ltd. and Cypress Energy Inc. Mr. Archibald has extensive knowledge and experience as a leader in the public oil and gas industry and financial services.

Mr. Archibald also serves on the Board of Directors for PETRONAS Canada, Spartan Delta Energy Corp., Willow Biosciences, WinSport and Palisade Capital Corp. Mr. Archibald holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Commerce degree (with distinction) from the University of Alberta. 

Chris Seasons

Chris Seasons is a Partner at ARC Financial Corp. He has over 30 years of operating experience in the Canadian upstream oil and gas industry. Mr. Seasons retired from Devon Canada Corp. in June of 2014 where he served as President for over ten years. Previously, he held a variety of leadership roles with a large multi-national, both domestically and internationally, and a junior Calgary based exploration and acquisition company.

Mr. Seasons represents ARC Financial Corp. on the board of Longshore Resources Ltd. He is also a director of PETRONAS Canada and Matrix Solutions Inc. He was previously the Chairman of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP), director of the United Way of Calgary and Area and current director of the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation. Mr. Seasons has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University. 

Rich Aube

Richard Aube is Managing Partner at Pine Brook and is responsible for managing the Firm's energy investment activities. He is also a member of the Firm's Management Committee and Investment Committee. Mr. Aube currently represents Pine Brook as a board director of Accelerate Resources Holdings, LLC, Cahill Services LLC, GR Energy Services Holdings LP, Pursuit Oil & Gas, LLC, Saguaro Resources Ltd., Serafina Energy Ltd. and Strategic Funding Source, Inc. (d/b/a Kapitus). 

Mr. Aube has 28 years of experience in the energy sector. Prior to joining Pine Brook, Mr. Aube was with D.E. Shaw & Company, a multi-strategy global investment firm, where he was a Managing Director responsible for co-managing the firm’s North American private equity effort. Previously, Mr. Aube was a partner with J.P. Morgan Partners, a multi-billion dollar private equity firm affiliated with JPMorgan Chase, where he focused on growth equity and buyout investments in the energy and industrial sectors. Earlier in his career, he was a Partner with the Beacon Group, an investment and advisory firm. 

Mr. Aube holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Economics from Dartmouth College.

Andre Burba

Andre Burba is a Managing Director, Credit at Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) in New York.  GIP is a global infrastructure asset manager with approximately $70 billion under management.  Prior to joining GIP, Mr. Burba spent nearly 12 years at Pine Brook – a New York based private equity firm – where he most recently served as a Partner and a member of the Investment Committee.  While at Pine Brook, Mr. Burba was responsible for originating and managing a portfolio of energy investments representing over $900 million of committed capital.  

From 2004 – 2008, Mr. Burba worked across the power, midstream and renewables sectors at Credit Suisse, first in Energy Investment Banking and later in Special Opportunities.  In the latter role, he was responsible for making debt and equity principal investments in private infrastructure companies.  

Mr. Burba began his career as a project finance counsel at Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy.  At Milbank, Mr. Burba represented lenders and borrowers in a variety of domestic and cross-border transactions including project financings, receivables securitizations, corporate loans, infrastructure asset sales and restructurings.  Mr. Burba holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School and a B.A. from West Virginia University.


Ted Maa

Ted Maa is a Partner on the energy investment team at Pine Brook. He is also a member of the firm's investment committee. Mr. Maa represents Pine Brook as a Director of Accelerate Resources Holdings, LLC, Elevation Resources Holdings LLC, Saguaro Resources Ltd., and Serafina Energy Ltd.

Prior to joining Pine Brook, Mr. Maa was a Vice President at Denham Capital Management, LP, where he specialized in energy infrastructure and oilfield services investment opportunities. Prior to that, Mr. Maa was an Analyst in the Global Investment Research Group at Goldman, Sachs & Co, where he focused on energy master limited partnerships. Earlier in his career, he spent two years with Apache Corporation as an Analyst in the Strategic Planning Group.

Mr. Maa holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Texas and a Masters of Business Administration from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.

Cameron McVeigh

Cameron McVeigh is a Managing Director, Investment Committee member and founder of Camcor Partners Inc. He previously held positions of increasing responsibility with two international chartered accountancy firms practicing in the areas of taxation, insolvency, and corporate finance. Mr. McVeigh currently represents Camcor interests on numerous Boards related to Camcor Fund investments including Saguaro Resources Ltd., Burgess Creek Exploration Inc. and Serafina Energy Ltd. 

Mr. McVeigh is a Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Accountant, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (with honours) from the University of Manitoba.

Ian Fergusson

Ian Fergusson is a Managing Director of Camcor Partners Inc. Mr. Fergusson joined Camcor in 1998. Prior to joining Camcor, Mr. Fergusson was employed with an international chartered accounting firm for four years in Canada and Australia working in the areas of taxation and audit. Mr. Fergusson currently represents Camcor interests on the Boards related to Camcor Fund investments, including Serafina Energy Ltd. 

Mr. Fergusson holds a Bachelor of Commerce with honors from the University of Calgary, holds the Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst Designation. 

Chad Harris

Chad Harris is the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Serafina Energy Ltd. and is a co-founder of the company. Mr. Harris has over 21 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with junior and senior producers. Prior to Serafina Mr. Harris was Vice President, Exploration, at Southern Pacific Resource Corp., which owned Senlac, one of the longest operating SAGD facilities in Saskatchewan, and prior thereto a Senior Geologist for Breaker Energy Ltd. Mr. Harris spent the first eight years of his career with Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. and was responsible for the exploration and development of various gas, heavy oil and bitumen properties.

Mr. Harris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and a Master’s of Science degree in Sedimentology from the University of Alberta.
