Job Title:            Plant Process Operator
Location:            Edam, Meota West, or Meota East
Reports to:         Facility Manager

This unique opportunity will support ongoing operational activities at the existing Edam or Meota West SAGD facility or Commissioning and Ready for Operations activities at the upcoming Meota East facility.

The Plant Process Operator is accountable to the Facility Manager. The Plant Operator will be responsible for ensuring the oil treatment and de-oiling facility operates safely, and efficiently with minimal down time.   The individual must be highly motivated and able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Support in the completion of all pre-startup deliverables for operations staff prior to commissioning. Deliverables include but are not limited to: develop and review of standard operating procedures, system asset identification, critical equipment identification, critical equipment PM planning, labeling of process equipment/piping (applicable to Meota East Plant).
  • Participate in commissioning plant facilities (applicable to Meota East Plant)
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of assigned equipment
  • Set an example in safety leadership with Serafina’s employees and contractors
  • Perform housekeeping, performance monitoring, and maintenance activities in the plant site
  • Understand and perform safety, environmental and regulatory responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lock out, emergency response, and implement safe working procedures
  • Ensure effective communication with the operations team members as well as maintenance, and supervisory staff

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years thermal operating experience with a combination of plant/field experience
  • A strong understanding of plant processes used in SAGD facilities
  • 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate
  • Familiarity in writing Safe Work Permits and the use of field level Hazard Assessments
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Able to interpret facility drawings (i.e. PID’s, H&M Balance sheets, line lists, and shutdown keys)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong team player, capable of working closely with a variety of groups but also a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated, open-minded and results orientated
  • High awareness and understanding of potential process safety incidents
  • Conduct business in a professional, ethical way with a focus on community responsibility
  • Delta V DCS familiarity is an asset
  • The individual will be required to work a 7 days on and 7 days off schedule alternating between days and nights once the facility is operational, during the fabrication/construction portion the individual schedule will be discussed during the interview process

Job Title:            Steam Process Operator
Location:            Edam or Meota West
Reports to:         Facility Manager

The Steam Process Operator is accountable to the Facility Manager.  The Steam Process Operator will be responsible for ensuring the steam generation facility and water treatment facilities operates safely, and efficiently with minimal down time. The individual must be highly motivated and able to work in a team environment.

The Well Operator is accountable to the Facility Manager.  The Well Operator will be responsible for ensuring the well pad and source water well transfer station operates safely, and efficiently with minimal down time. The individual must be highly motivated and able to work in a team environment. 

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Support in the completion of all pre-startup deliverables for operations staff prior to commissioning. Deliverables include but are not limited to: develop and review of standard operating procedures, system asset identification, critical equipment identification, critical equipment PM planning and labeling of process equipment/piping (applicable to Meota East Plant)
  • Participate in commissioning plant facilities (applicable to Meota East Plant)

  • Minimum 1 year thermal operating experience; other oilfield well operating experience will be considered.

  • Knowledge of Rotoflex’s and downhole positive displacement pumps is an asset

Job Title:            Control Room Operator/Shift Lead (multiple positions) 

Location:            Meota East and Meota West

Reports to:         Facility Manager

This unique opportunity will support activities at the existing Meota West SAGD facility or the upcoming Meota East facility. 

The Meota East Candidate will support the Commissioning team and participate in the start-up activities of the Meota East 8000 bbl/day SAGD facility. This individual will be part of the Ready for Operations activities required to safely transition the plant to an operating facility.

The Control Room Operator is accountable to the Facility Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the facility operates safely, and efficiently with minimal down time. The individual must be highly motivated, use good judgment, and able to communicate within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Support in the completion of all pre-start-up deliverables for operations staff prior to commissioning. Deliverables include but are not limited to: operating procedures, provide input on safe work procedures, critical asset identification, critical equipment PM planning (only applicable for Meota East Candidates)
  • Participate in commissioning plant facilities (only applicable for Meota East Candidates)
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the plant equipment from the control room. These areas include: steam, utilities, de-oiling, oil treating, water treatment, steam generation and well pad production
  • Support turnaround planning activities
  • Participate in Serafina’s maintenance/integrity program for operating facilities
  • Set an example in safety leadership with Serafina’s employees and contractors
  • Support Serafina’s Safety Management Plan as required

Marketing Accountant

Job Title: Marketing Accountant

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Reports to: Director, Marketing

Serafina Energy is looking for a Marketing Accountant to join our team. This newly created position will provide support to both the marketing and finance/accounting departments with a focus on monthly reporting, verification and reconciliation of sales contracts and invoices for both physical and financial transactions. The ideal candidate is organized, detail oriented, an excellent problem solver, and able to collaborate with others in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Gather, accurately calculate, and analyze information used in determining netback pricing
  • Liaise with Marketing, Production Accounting and other departments to ensure marketing transactions are accurately accounted for on a timely basis
  • Review counterparty invoicing and reconcile supporting documents
  • Respond to KYC requests and aid in customer set-up
  • Prepare invoice settlements and follow-up with counterparties and the Marketing department to resolve discrepancies
  • Track, verify and reconcile weekly/monthly oil deliveries
  • Complete required financial reporting schedules including monthly Marketing accrual
  • Oversee all physical and financial transaction verification
