Accounts Payable Analyst

Job Title:        Accounts Payable Analyst
Location:        Calgary, AB
Reports to:     Controller

The Accounts Payable Analyst is accountable to the Controller. This full time permanent position is responsible for accurately and efficiently coding accounts payable invoices, expenses, and processing payments.  This position will support the operations team in the processing of operating  and capital expenses.  

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: 

  • Processing of operating and capital expenses for a given area(s)
  • AFE capital management and AFE Navigator administration for a given area(s)
  • Coordination of monthly capital and operating accrual
  • Accounting liaison to field administrators and Facility Managers
  • Verification in Wellview of Drilling / Completion expenses
  • Monthly PST self-assessment
  • Daily entry of truck tickets from IsolERA software system into Marketing spreadsheets
  • Review, reconcile, correct and code truck tickets
  • Qbyte Master file maintenance and administration

Desired Skills and Experience: 

  • Post-secondary education with a focus on Accounting
  • 5-10 years relevant oil and gas experience
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications
  • Proficiency using QBYTE and Open Invoice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to prioritize works and meet deadlines

Corporate Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE) Manager

Job Title: Corporate Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE) Manager
Location: Calgary

The Corporate Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining the company's Health, Safety & Environmental Program ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, provincial and local regulations. This role will oversee, monitor and provide leadership and guidance to the management team, the field HSE team and employees on all health, safety and environment-related matters.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: 

  • Work with Serafina’s leadership team to ensure the Safety Management Program is implemented and consistently adhered to across all areas of the company
  • Maintain knowledge and proficiency in current safety legislation and industry safety resources
  • Maintain safety statistics including a comprehensive set of leading and lagging indicators for all of Serafina’s operations (including employees and general contractor work).  Continuously assess corporate performance against industry peers
  • Oversee the Emergency Response Program ensuring that all staff are educated, trained, and prepared to respond to any incident
  • Develop, implement and review processes to ensure compliance to policies, standards, regulatory requirements and ensure mitigation of risks
  • Prepare and present performance metrics and trend analysis to the Executive Committee on a regular basis
  • Assess opportunities and threats to recommend appropriate plans to improve the operational effectiveness of HSE
  • Ensure all applicable government agencies, industry associations, and/or law enforcement are notified, depending on the type and severity of an incident
  • Lead, guide and mentor the Health, Safety, and Environment Team
  • Review existing HSE program policies and procedures and in conjunction with Management Team update as necessary
  • Review and provide direction and guidance for significant incident root cause analysis investigations and follow-up
  • Adequately consider environmental and stakeholder sensitivities in all aspects of field activities

Desired Skills and Experience: 

  • Related post-secondary Health & Safety degrees, diplomas and certifications are considered an asset
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification is considered an asset
  • 10 years oil & gas industry experience with 5+ years experience in a Health, Safety & Environment leadership role
  • In-depth knowledge of all relevant legislation and standards in the province of Saskatchewan
  • Goal-oriented and capable of meeting deadlines
  • Highly organized with excellent analytical, integration and project management abilities 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-focused skills
  • Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Project Engineer (1 Year Fixed Term)

Job Title:        Project Engineer (1 Year Fixed Term)
Location:        Calgary, AB/Lloydminster SK
Reports to:     Manager – Major Projects

The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager with project functions and will drive technical aspects of the project while ensuring code and regulatory compliance. The Senior Project Engineer must be motivated, committed, and able to work in a fast-paced environment within a high-performance team. Multitasking and priority setting skills will be necessary to manage the schedule driven workload.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Primary contact for the multi-disciplinary project engineering deliverables and effort
  • Ensure facilities follow all applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices 
  • Review technical documents, quality plans, and safety plans
  • Development of project cost estimates and schedules
  • Meeting preparation, participation and facilitation for technical reviews, information sharing, and planning
  • Project controls and progress reporting
  • Monitor and enforce the corporate Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE)
  • Facilitate and participate in system walkdowns and handover
  • Provide technical support for commissioning and operations

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in a project related role in the Oil and Gas industry

  • Proven successful history working on a fast-tracked project
  • Experience working with engineering and construction contractors

HSE Field Coordinator (Fixed Term Contract)

Serafina Energy Ltd. is currently seeking to fill the following position:

Job Title:         HSE Field Coordinator (Fixed Term Contract)
Location:         Edam, Saskatchewan
Reports To:     HSE Team Lead

The HSE Field Coordinator will be accountable to the HSE Team Lead and will interact with various project teams within Serafina. The HSE Field Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and facilitating Serafina's Safety Management Program. The focus of this position will include site observations, contractor spot checks, COVID-19 protocols, and managing environmental concerns.

The successful candidate will have experience in HSE site activities and the continual improvement of safety management programs. Be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, as well as external vendors and contractors.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct on location inspections and safety observations including meeting with supervisors to discuss any potential problems
  • Assist in the investigation of incidents, root cause identification and recommendations of corrective action, as well as continuous improvement to HSE initiatives
  • Understand and remain updated on current health, safety and environmental legislation including changes and industry best practices
  • Perform hazard assessments including information gathering to update safe work procedures
  • Maintain and analyze Health Safety & Environmental statistics through Serafina’s HSE database, Maximo.
  • Ensure all incidents, hazard ID’s and near miss reporting is properly classified
  • Support the training of Serafina personnel in Emergency Preparedness and Response as per the Serafina ERP Manual
  • Build and maintain a relationship with employees and contractors
  • Aid in preparation and participate in safety meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a field HSE role within the Oil & Gas Industry
  • Knowledge of all relevant legislation and standards in the province of Saskatchewan
  • Knowledge of Saskatchewan Environmental Regulations would be considered an asset
  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated and capable of meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-focused skills
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
