Job Title:      Production Engineer
Location:      Calgary, AB
Reports to:   Manager, Production

The Production Engineer will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to optimize production.  The Production Engineer will also be responsible and accountable for optimizing the company’s resources through the planning and execution of pad facility design, new well completions and executing the new well start-up plans.  This position will support Management to ensure that all production and capital inputs are captured in the exploration and development planning, design and operations of the company’s heavy oil thermal assets.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide recommendations and lead daily well pair optimization plans
  • Recommend well completion designs and workover operations
  • Propose and implement new well start-up plans with field operations
  • Manage disposal completions, testing and applications
  • Work with the Exploitation Engineer to provide production forecasts
  • Provide support to field staff during plant commissioning and well start-ups
  • Provide input to plant and pad facility design
  • Communicate key production concepts to team members and Management
  • Support Production Accounting for volumetric reporting
  • Occasional travel to site to provide on-site support
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years related industry experience directly involved with production/completions aspects of thermal project development and operations
  • University Degree in Engineering; registration or eligibility for membership with APEGA
  • SAGD field operating experience is an asset
  • Strong understanding of SAGD operations
  • Experience in new well start-ups is required
  • Knowledge of various completions, lift techniques and optimization
  • Strong computer skills and experience with PI Historian and WellView are assets
  • Goal-oriented and capable of meeting deadlines
  • Creative thinking approach for finding solutions to best optimize Production growth strategies
  • Highly organized with excellent analytical, integration and project management abilities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-focused skills with the ability to demand results

Job Title:             Accounting Assistant (One Year Contract)
Location:             Calgary, AB
Reports to:          Controller

The Accounting Assistant is accountable to the Controller. This contract position is responsible for accurately and efficiently coding accounts payable invoices, expenses, and processing payments.  The Accounting Assistant aids the Accounting Group with daily administrative functions to keep the department current and functioning well.  

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and enter invoices
  • Liaison with vendors for all invoice and statement inquiries
  • Prepare cheques for executive approval and distribution
  • Daily entry of work orders from inventory system to accounting system
  • Process employee expenses and corporate Visa expenses
  • Other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education with a focus on Accounting
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience; oil and gas experience is considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • QBYTE experience is an asset

Intermediate Project Engineer (Contract)

Job Title:            Intermediate Project Engineer (Contract)
Location:            Calgary, Alberta
Reports to:         Project Manager

The Intermediate Project Engineer will support the Project Manager with all technical aspects of the project, while ensuring code and regulatory compliance. The Intermediate Project Engineer must be familiar in all Project Phases, including execution and construction.   The successful candidate must have strong communication skills, be highly motivated, and able to work within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Support a multi-disciplinary project engineering team on deliverables
  • Work with external partners and internal stakeholder groups 
  • Build positive relationships to influence and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Preparation of weekly, monthly reports and various project presentations
  • Review technical documents, quality plans, and safety plans
  • Support development of project cost estimates and schedules
  • Prepare, participate and facilitate meetings for technical reviews, information sharing and planning
  • Project controls and progress reporting
  • Monitor and ensure adherence the corporate Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE)
  • Facilitate and participate in system walkdowns and handover
  • Provide technical support for commissioning and operations
  • Support duties of Safety Inspector and Quality Inspector when these roles have not been assigned
  • Preparation and collation of contract documents
  • Assist in the development and execution of pre-commissioning and commissioning activities

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a Project Engineer or related role in the Oil and Gas industry
  • PMP, P.ENG. and/or Asset Certified
  • Familiar with SAGD facilities, infrastructure and pipelines

Maintenance Planner

North Battleford, SK

Job Title:              Maintenance Planner
Location:              North Battleford Area
Reports to:           Maintenance Foreman
Schedule:             5 days on, 2 days off (M-F)

This role requires a self-motivated, highly professional, personable individual who demonstrates strong business acumen, clear concise communication, organizational skills, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with significant growth opportunities. This individual must interact and foster collaboration between all stakeholders.  Safety, reliability and efficiencies are predominant areas of focus.

Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, the Maintenance Planner coordinates labour resources, material and assigns them to execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities within the facilities.

The Maintenance Planner must demonstrate strong knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling processes and will be expected to become proficient in the use of Maximo. The Maintenance Planner will work collaboratively with the Maintenance and Operations teams to develop, maintain and communicate a daily work schedule as well as update work order statuses.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure effective communication with operations, maintenance, and supervisory staff
  • Ensure all pressure and process equipment maintenance complies with current engineering standards and TSASK Legislation
  • Engage operations leads for approval of daily work orders, defining job scope, scheduling and closeout of daily work orders
  • Provide updates to operations staff regarding the completion of ongoing maintenance work orders
  • Monitor and maintain maintenance records for equipment
  • Direct maintenance staff for timely and efficient completion of planned and unplanned maintenance tasks
  • Create and communicate a daily work order schedule to operations staff
  • Facilitate meetings for weekly work order reviews with operations staff, discussing ongoing activities, and discussing proposed work for the upcoming period

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working closely with a variety of groups but also a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of maintenance and reliability practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, open-minded and results orientated
  • Minimum 3 years of planning/scheduling experience
  • Working knowledge of a Computer Centralized Maintenance System (CCMS) (Maximo is an asset)
  • Experience with Thermal Heavy Oil and/or SAGD maintenance planning is an asset but not required
  • Committed to best practices in health, safety and environmental management
  • Ethical business conduct and community responsibility
  • Self-motivated, open-minded and results oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
