M. Scott Bratt

Chairman of the Board

M. Scott Bratt is an independent businessman, corporate director and Chairman of Serafina Energy’s Board of Directors. Mr. Bratt has worked in the energy sector for over 25 years, including an 18 year investment banking career primarily at FirstEnergy Capital Corp. (15 years) where he was Managing Director, Co-Head of Corporate Finance until August 2012.  Mr. Bratt has significant experience in mergers, acquisitions, valuations, financing, and has been a trusted advisor to numerous boards and senior management teams.

Mr. Bratt serves on the Board of Directors of Steelhead Petroleum Ltd., Saguaro Resources Ltd., Sitka Exploration Ltd., is the Chairman of WindRiver Power Corporation and is the Vice-Chairman of Panorama Mountain Village Inc.  Mr.  Bratt was a Director and the Chairman of the Special Committee of Angle Energy Inc. (TSX:NGL) prior to its sale in December 2013. Mr. Bratt was a past director of CanElson Drilling Inc. (TSX: CDI) prior to its sale in 2015. Mr. Bratt has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary, holds the Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst designations, and is an Institute-Certified Director (ICD.D).
 

Don Archibald

Don Archibald is an independent Calgary businessman who serves as the Chairman of Cequence Energy Ltd. and Panorama Mountain Village Inc. Previously, Mr. Archibald held a variety of senior roles with Cyries Energy Ltd., including Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and was the President and Chief Executive Officer of both Cequel Energy Ltd. and Cypress Energy Inc. Mr. Archibald has extensive knowledge and experience as a leader in the public oil and gas industry and financial services.

Mr. Archibald also serves on the Board of Directors for Progress Energy Canada Ltd., Spartan Energy Corp., Swan Hills Synfuels, Sea NG Corp., WinSport and Palisade Capital Corp. Mr. Archibald holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Commerce degree (with distinction) from the University of Alberta. 

Chris Seasons

Chris Seasons is Vice-Chairman and Director for ARC Financial Corp. where he provides support for the investment team in the areas of strategy and risk management, as well as investment decision-making. He has over 30 years of operating experience in the Canadian upstream oil and gas industry. Mr. Seasons retired from Devon Canada Corp. in June of 2014 where he served as President for over ten years. Mr. Seasons successfully grew Devon Canada’s heavy oil operation from 15,000 barrels per day to 90,000 barrels per day. Previously, he held a variety of operational and management roles with Shell Canada Ltd. and Stampeder Exploration.

Mr. Seasons currently sits on the Board of Directors for ARC Financial Corp., Boulder Energy Ltd., Longshore Resources Ltd., Matrix Solutions Inc., Progress Energy Resource Corp., Steelhead Petroleum Ltd. and the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. He was previously the Chairman of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers and director of the United Way of Calgary and Area. Mr. Seasons has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta. 

Rich Aube

Richard Aube is co-president at Pine Brook Partners and is responsible for managing the Firm's energy investment activities. He is also a member of the Investment Committee. Mr. Aube currently represents Pine Brook as a Director of Accelerate Resources Holdings, LLC, Brigham Resources, LLC, Cahill Services LLC, Elevation Resources Holdings, LLC, GR Energy Services Holdings LP, High Ground Energy Inc., Saguaro Resources Ltd., Serafina Energy Ltd., Stonegate Production Company I & II, and Wagon Wheel Exploration, LLC.

Mr. Aube has 26 years of experience in the energy sector. Prior to joining Pine Brook, Mr. Aube was with D.E. Shaw & Company, a multi-strategy global investment firm, where he was a Managing Director responsible for co-managing the firm’s North American private equity effort. Previously, Mr. Aube was a partner with J.P. Morgan Partners, a multi-billion dollar private equity firm affiliated with JPMorgan Chase, where he focused on growth equity and buyout investments in the energy and industrial sectors. Earlier in his career, he was a Partner with the Beacon Group, an investment and advisory firm. Mr. Aube has served on the Boards of several energy companies, including Bill Barrett Corp., Latigo Petroleum, Capstone Turbine Corp., FirstWind Corporation, and Proton Energy Systems.

Mr. Aube holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Economics from Dartmouth College.
 

Andre Burba

Andre Burba is a Managing Director on the energy investment team at Pine Brook Partners. He is responsible for Pine Brook’s investment activities in Canada and is also a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. Mr. Burba represents Pine Brook as a Director of Common Resources III, Forge Energy, LLC, Gulf Pine Energy Partners, LP, High Ground Energy Inc., Red Bluff Resources, LLC, Saguaro Resources Ltd, and Serafina Energy Ltd. and has also been involved in the firm’s investments in Common Resources LLC, Common Resources II, LLC and Phoenix Exploration Company, LP.

Mr. Burba has over 16 years of experience in the energy sector as a principal investor, investment banker and project finance counsel. Prior to joining Pine Brook, Mr. Burba was with Credit Suisse, where he was a Principal Investor in the Special Opportunities Group and was responsible for investments in energy, metals and mining, renewables, and oil and gas. Prior to joining the Special Opportunities Group, Mr. Burba was an investment banker in the Energy Group at Credit Suisse, where he advised energy companies in multiple project finance transactions and closed nearly $3 billion in debt and equity capital raises for power, oil and gas, and renewable energy companies. He began his career as a Project Finance Counsel at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, representing energy companies and investors in a variety of domestic and cross-border capital raises, acquisitions and restructurings.

Mr. Burba holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music (summa cum laude) from West Virginia University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and a Joint Degree from Vanderbilt University Law School, where he was a John S. Beasley scholar. Mr. Burba is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Vanderbilt University Law School.
 

Ted Maa

Ted Maa is a Principal on the energy investment team at Pine Brook Partners.  Mr. Maa represents Pine Brook as a Director of Accelerate Resources Holdings, LLC, Elevation Resources Holdings LLC, Gulf Pine Energy Partners, LP, High Ground Energy Inc., Saguaro Resources Ltd., and Serafina Energy Ltd.

Prior to joining Pine Brook, Mr. Maa was a Vice President at Denham Capital Management, LP, where he specialized in energy infrastructure and oilfield services investment opportunities.   Prior to that, Mr. Maa was an Analyst in the Global Investment Research Group at Goldman, Sachs & Co, where he focused on energy master limited partnerships.  Earlier in his career, he spent two years with Apache Corporation as an Analyst in the Strategic Planning Group.

Mr. Maa holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Texas and a Masters of Business Administration from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
 

Cameron McVeigh

Cameron McVeigh is a Managing Director, Investment Committee member and founder of Camcor Partners Inc. He previously held positions of increasing responsibility with two international chartered accountancy firms practicing in the areas of taxation, insolvency, and corporate finance.  Mr. McVeigh currently represents Camcor interests on numerous Boards related to Camcor Fund investments including Tangle Creek Energy Ltd., Saguaro Resources Ltd., Steppe Resources Inc., Halo Exploration Ltd., High Ground Energy Inc., Red River Oil Inc. and Serafina Energy Ltd. 

Mr. McVeigh is a Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Accountant, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (with honours) from the University of Manitoba.

Jeff Skingle

Jeff Skingle is a Vice-President of Camcor Partners Inc. Mr. Skingle joined Camcor in 2007.  Prior to joining Camcor, Mr. Skingle was employed with BMO Capital Markets for two years in the Loan Products Group providing corporate banking services for a variety of senior and junior exploration and production firms, oil sands operators and royalty trusts.  Prior to BMO, Mr. Skingle was employed with RBC Royal Bank for two years in the commercial lending group.

Mr. Skingle holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Denver, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Calgary.

Chad Harris

Chad Harris is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Serafina Energy Ltd. and is a co-founder of the company. Mr. Harris has over 17 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry with junior and senior producers. Most recently, he was employed as VP Exploration at Southern Pacific Resource Corp. from 2009 – 2013. Prior thereto, Mr. Harris worked at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL).

Mr. Harris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and a Master’s of Science degree in Sedimentology from the University of Alberta.
