Serafina Energy is looking for a Land Administrator to join our team for a 1-year Fixed-Term Contract. This position works within the Land department and will have responsibilities in all aspects of Surface Land and Regulatory. Having the ability to multitask and effectively establish work priorities will be crucial for success in this position. The ideal candidate is extremely resourceful, self-sufficient and able to thrive in our fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor Serafina’s third party email account
  • Prepare and issue all external third-party agreements, along with getting all internal approvals prior to issuing agreements
  • Work with internal departments for Serafina required third party requests
  • Prepare and send out all requests, as well as track requests with external parties
  • Update and maintain CS Explorer for all surface land related files
  • Manage surface land monthly rental payments
  • Prepare surface land licencing packages for internal groups
  • Prepare surface land documentation required for field acquisition
  • Pull titles, and create landowner line lists for survey clearance 
  • Due diligence and support for A&D/Growth
  • File management and quality assurance
  • Support internal departments with surface land/regulatory requirements

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years Land Administration experience; Saskatchewan knowledge is required

Facility Engineer - Field Based (North Battleford Area)

Job Title: Facility Engineer – Field Based (North Battleford Area)

Location: Lloydminster

Reports to: Manager, Projects

Serafina Energy is looking for a Facility Engineer to join our team. The Facility Engineer will support the Operations Group with operating assets as well as work with the Project Group for capital projects to handover to Operations. The Facility Engineer must be familiar with SAGD plant operations as well as project execution. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and able to work within a multi-disciplinary team. This position is a field-based position and is located at our facility in the Edam area (approximately 50km from North Battleford).

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Plant optimization and debottleneck of SAGD facilities 
  • Steward (Management of Change) MOC Process, as well as execute MOCs
  • Perform monthly AFE accruals  
  • Interface with Marketing Group with crude oil quality testing and monitoring
  • Responsible for plant data capture system for new projects as well as existing assets
  • Review/maintain (Measurement Accounting Reporting and Plan) Marp documents for new and existing facilities
  • Interface between capital Projects Group and Operations Group 
  • Manage post handover deficiencies for new facilities
  • Manage PI interface and maintenance of new/existing facilities
  • Support Tax audits and insurance related inquiries for new and existing facilities

  • Support monthly accrual process

  • Co-ordinate recruitment activities:

Facility Manager

Job Title: Facility Manager

Location: Meota East, Saskatchewan

Reports to: Manager, Operations

The Facility Manager is accountable to the Manager, Operations and will initially support the engineering, construction, commissioning and start-up of an 8,000 barrel per day SAGD facility for Meota East. Once the project is up and running the Facility Manager will be accountable for ensuring that the facility runs safely, and efficiently. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team to strategize the operations of the facility, and provide leadership to operations staff in the plant.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the completion of all pre-startup deliverables for operations staff prior to commissioning. Deliverables include but are not limited to: operating procedures/policy, HSE standards, facility maintenance planning and financial planning/budgeting
  • Support the commissioning of the facility
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the facility to ensure safe and efficient operations of the plant equipment
  • Participate in Serafina’s MOC process
  • Identify and scope opportunities to maximize production, minimize operating costs, and eliminate downtime
  • Set an example in safety leadership with Serafina’s employees and contractors
  • Troubleshoot and repair/resolve process problems
  • Support operations team to execute process changes to the operating conditions of the facility and well-pad
  • Participate in monthly/yearly budgeting requirements
  • Create yearly operational budgets and identify yearly capital spending opportunities
  • Understand and perform safety, environmental and regulatory responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lock out, emergency response, and implement safe working procedures
  • Ensure effective communication with a multi-disciplinary team

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 8 years supervisory experience for a producing oil and gas company
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Minimum 3rd class power engineer certificate
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license

Job Title: Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Field Coordinator

Location:  Edam, Saskatchewan

Reports to:  HSE Coordinator 

Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Coordinator

The HSE Field Coordinator will be situated at the Edam facility and will be responsible for maintaining and stewarding to the Serafina’s Safety Management Program across all field sites. The HSE Field Coordinator will interact with various groups within Serafina, including: operations, projects/construction, drilling and completions, and marketing. The successful candidate must effectively communicate with all levels of the company, as well external vendors and contractors.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain knowledge and proficiency in current safety legislation and industry safety resources
  • Ensure all tasks performed by Serafina Energy workers have undergone a Formal Hazard Assessment (FHA)
  • Support workers, supervisors and managers in performing hazard assessments by providing information as requested (e.g., acquire manufacture user manuals, legislative experts, industry recommended practices, services of qualified agents to perform assessment and monitoring [i.e., noise level assessments, atmospheric testing for chemical hazards, etc.], research literature, etc.)
  • Ensure all reports requiring corrective action (e.g. incident reports, various inspection reports, Hazard ID reports, etc.) receive meaningful corrective actions, and that the corrective actions taken are properly documented
  • Ensure all applicable government agencies, industry associations, and/or law enforcement are notified, depending on the type and severity of the incident
  • Work with applicable parties to determine root cause and appropriate corrective action for incidents
  • Maintain safety statistics including a comprehensive set of leading and lagging indicators for all of Serafina’s operations (including employees and general contractor work)
  • Ensure all incidents are properly classified
  • Coordinate activities and resources to effectively train personnel in Emergency Preparedness and Response as per the Serafina ERP Manual
  • Prepare and present monthly safety meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Health and Safety role within the Oil & Gas Industry
  • Relevant degree/certification/diploma is required
  • Knowledge of all relevant legislation and standards in the province of Saskatchewan
  • Knowledge on Saskatchewan Environmental Regulations would be considered an asset
